  • Jacobs

Love the pic Karen! 6:02 50# BEG 15 sec improvement.

  • LoriBro

9:03 INT. Don’t have a before score to compare. Thanks for the cheers, Nicole!

  • Collin O

7:56 INT….didn’t have previous score to compare to. Great tip from Jarrod on slowing my row down about 7-10 seconds from my previous 32-36 sec 200m. That 7-10 seconds made a huge diff endurance-wise when those 3rd & 4th rounds of thrusters & burpees came up.

  • Eddie B

    8:51 improved by 14 seconds
Pacing felt slower, but time was faster.
Breathing felt much more controlled and consistent throughout.

  • Ann

10:40 rx, 18 second improvement.  Thanks Amanda for being my partner!

  • Carleen

8:57 Int 10 second improvement. Today was my first time throwing up after a work out – I saw little stars after the last burpee. Anne D you are awesome – thanks for being a kick A___ partner.

  • Jim C

Looking forward to hitting this at 5:30 pm. Maybe we can match the energy from the Monday, 4:30 pm class!

  • Karyn Manning

Love the picture, Karen!  Glad test week is over. It stresses me out.  :)
    6:52  (beg 40#)….40 second improvement!

  • BethMc

Sore throat headache and body aches….rest today & I’ll do this over the weekend

  • Laura p

    Hi Beth
I can’t make it in today, I would like to do this over the weekend too, let me know when you are going to make it up!

  • Anne D

my partner in crime..you did awesome! i even got to see the throw up.

  • BarbaraH

My score was worse.  But I take into consideration that during the eight weeks, I injured my knee, strained my shoulder and then my back. I avoided full burpees for a month and I was away a lot.  So all in all, not a great month of working toward change.  I consider today a WIN. I did the burpees and I did the Thrusters when I was worried about being able. I’m not retesting as tempted as I am to crush my first score.  I hate letting the coaches down by not showing improvement after the programming – that would be my only motivation for retest.  Added 30 seconds. Beginner.

  • Mark J.

Do you see that Mammone? You CAN do the re-row at open gym on Sunday!!

  • Lisa d

Barbara, thanks for saying the part about letting the coaches down, I felt the same way this morning since my time in november was 7:38 and today it was 8:04, unfortunately I did not have the injuries that you have experienced, I just have not been good with my nutrition, which has resulted in a weight gain, which is part of the reason my time was significantly
slower. The programming works, you just have to do the other part if it, the stuff you are responsible for the other 23 hours you are not at Craic. Thanks to the coaches for taking the time to make the effort to help us get better, and, my back squat and 500m row were both better, baby steps!

    What’s up Craicheads!

      After reading
the blog just now, I wanted to take a minute and let every single one of you
know none of you could ever let me down! As long as you show up and give it
every thing you have on that day. Not every workout can be a PR. There are so
many variables to day to day life: sleep, what we ate, stress the list goes on
and on. When you walk through the doors of Craic that in itself is a PR! You
just PR’d your life! Your putting in effort to become a better you! If you ever
feel like “Aww man I sucked at today’s work out” Bust open your journal and
look back a few months, a year what ever. Maybe then you will see that you are
winning the war, you just lost today’s battle.

    I love you all!

    Coach Pete

  • Jayme

Another great noon class today.  Ended up with 6:31 INT which is 90 second PR from the first test.  This has been an awesome week for me and I want to thank all the coaches and especially glen/john for the programing. I have never made gains like this in such a short time before.  I can’t wait to see what happens over the course of 2013.

  • Beth Mc

I will let you know Laura! have to see how I feel and when I can get in.  Good luck tonight and have fun

  • Neilsplace2

9am class was awesome. Thought the warm up was perfect. My time was 7:00 beg/@75# which was an 11 sec improvement. I was hoping for more but the point is I improved. I agree with Hurd the coaching has been great and I am also looking forward to 2013 results. Thanks guys!

    +100 on this.

  • http://www.facebook.com/johnrss John McEvoy

    Well said Lisa -
At the same time don’t beat yourself up about it. 2 out of 3 PR’s is a good thing. Even 1 out of 3 is a good thing.

  • Judy L

unbelievable job Jayme. I didn’t stand a chance:)

  • Judy L

9:26rx.  Didn’t test this the first time but happy with my pacing.  Also retested my dead hangs because I have been beating myself up about my Monday score. +1 from first test. I’ll take it.

This was the part of test week I dreaded the most but ended up improving the most on…The first time I did this I intended to do 5 rounds and quit at 4 rounds…9:35 /95#…so today I intended to do 4 rounds, which I did in 7:40 but J-Bone told me to keep going….so I did and finished 5 rounds in 9:30…better than my 4 rounds last time. Go figure.

  • http://www.facebook.com/jackdaly Jack Daly

7:25rx… 30 sec PR… Thanks Jim for the push!

  • Anthony DeMusis

8:57 Rx.   47 second improvement and I could not be happier!

  • Jim C

Today was the finish of an awesome test week for me. I did today’s WOD in 7:43 at RX which was 1:13 better than last time. I was hoping for low a low 8 minute mark. Thanks to Jack for the push and keeping me on pace and to coach Glen who got in my ear for the last round so I wouldn’t let up. I am so pumped moving forward and can’t wait to keep getting better with the wods in the coming weeks.

Not sure if anyone will see this as I’m typing and it’s 10 min til 8 when the new post will arrive.  But I just want to say how proud I am of everyone, this has been an amazingly inspiring and assuring week for us as coaches, as we watch the parade of PR’s from monday to friday.  It is so fulfilling to take a chance on some new ideas, put them into practice with conviction and belief, and to see them exceed out own expectations.
I’m sure I’ll expound on this more in a more organized way later but I just finished coaching three wonderful groups on friday night and the positive energy was filling the gym.  Good vibes, good people, and good honest to god effort and hard work all being met with satisfaction at a task completed and a job well done.
Like it or not, fitness or school, work or family, contrived or real, life is full of tests.  It is full of survival, failure, and success.  If you worked your butt off you probably aced the tests this week.  If you didn’t you may not have.  If other things got in the way that’s ok too, there are more important things that retesting a workout.  But if you didn’t do better, you can do better, you just need to look in the mirror and figure out what needs to give.
If you like how you feel after setting PR’s all week, strap in for the ride, because we’re just getting started.

Have a wonderful weekend Craicheads! You’ve already made mine great! Love you!

  • Nicole B

    7:29 @55#INT (30sec PR)

  • Adam J

This was both my best and worst week of CRAIC.  It was the worst week because I’ve been battling nagging injuries that I finally had to start rehabbing and sit on the sidelines –  and like everyone I was so looking forward to Test Week.  It was my best CRAIC week because my PR was realizing that my 10 month CRAIC experience is just the beginning of a lifelong journey -and I can lose a battle in order to win the war.

It’s been awesome to see my fellow Craicheads PR while rowing and stretching, reading the posts, and getting the encouragement that I’ll be back at it 100% before long.  Congrats, and thank you!

I can’t believed I PR today, I would have been happy to shave 5 or 10 seconds but 47 seconds???  My jaw dropped when I saw the results, along with everything else in my body after the last round.  Ooof that was a drainer.

     5:58  BG  45lbs.

  • Russ

26 seconds better than November. I cant freakin believe it. You guys are unbelievable. I just show up, Try to do what you say, and get results I don’t even try to explain to my friends anymore.
    Thanks Glen.

  • Gienah

Thanks for the great coaching Glen!

  • Curtz

Finally got around to this one at Sunday’s Open Gym with Barb F, Kerstin and Cyrus.  The support was awesome as we all PR’d.  Thanks guys (and to the coaches too, of course)!!!!

6:16 INT, an improvement over my initial time of 6:55.  Was worried about this one so I’m psyched I was able to shave off so much time.

It’s 2 hours later and I still feel like I swallowed razor blades…..
